Are you passionate about helping young people encounter Jesus Christ, grow as disciples, and play an active part in the life of the Church? We’re looking for a committed Youth & Young Adults Co-ordinator to help nurture a vibrant culture of faith, community, and mission in our parish.

About the Role

The Youth & Young Adults Co-ordinator leads and supports our parish ministry with young people—from primary and secondary school students through to young adults.

Based at St Gregory’s Church (Parish office is located here), this 35-hour per week role works closely with the parish priests, staff, and our local Catholic schools to:

  • Help young people deepen their relationship with Christ in a safe, welcoming community

  • Connect parish and school life, especially through our four Catholic primary schools and local Catholic colleges

  • Build up and accompany youth and young adult leaders so that ministry is sustainable and shared

You’ll be part of a wider Diocesan network too, collaborating with the Catholic Youth Team and other Youth and Young Adult Coordinators in other parishes.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Youth & Young Adults Ministry

  • Coordinate parish junior and senior youth groups and the young adults’ group

  • Build relationships with local Catholic schools and support their youth initiatives

  • Plan and run youth and young adult events, retreats, liturgies, and camps

  • Recruit, train, and support youth and young adult leaders and core teams

Sacramental & Faith Formation

  • Coordinate the parish Confirmation programme in collaboration with schools

  • Support sacramental and faith formation opportunities for young people

Pastoral Care & Outreach

  • Accompany young people in their faith and life journeys

  • Encourage and support their involvement in wider parish life

Operations & Communication

  • Organise leaders, volunteers, and logistics for groups and events

  • Ensure safe ministry practice, following parish safeguarding and H&S policies

  • Promote youth and young adult activities through parish and school channels

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who:

  • Has a living relationship with Jesus Christ and is committed to the teachings and life of the Catholic Church

  • Loves working with young people and can build strong, trusting relationships with them and their families

  • Is organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple programmes and events

  • Enjoys working collaboratively with clergy, parish staff, school leaders, and volunteers

  • Has the initiative to develop new opportunities while also honouring what is already in place

Experience in youth or young adult ministry, education, or pastoral work is an advantage, as is familiarity with parish and school environments.
