Parish Survey 2024:
What We Said
How we see our Parish overall.
The survey opened with four sections, listing various positive statements that we could agree or disagree with.
The percentage of parishioners agreeing (or strongly agreeing) to statements relating to how we as individuals and as a Parish fulfill the Parish Vision was 72%. Community engagement was lower at 66%, while those engaged in Faith Learning was 63%.
The five statements with the highest agreement:
Four of the top five statements that received the highest agreements were associated with personal alignment with the Parish Vision which is very encouraging.
The five statements with the lowest agreement:
The statements that received the least agreement amongst parishioners were related to contributing to parish life, sharing the Gospel message amongst others and taking part in faith learning opportunities. This is not a surprise but something we as a Parish can help grow.
Community Engagement.
A trend that came through in the responses around community life was that although 79% felt we had a warm and welcoming community, the percentage of people agreeing with statements that our parish life was strong and “I” had a sense of connection and belonging to the parish community was lower at 59%. As a Leadership Team and a parish as a whole, we will investigate how we can close this gap.
Engagement by Age: Breaking down overall engagement by age, those between 30-59 years tend to be more engaged than younger people and people over 60 years.
